Fremont Area Chamber of Commerce Flag Program
September 24, 2011
The Fremont Area Chamber of Commerce and Fremont American Legion Post #257 held a Benefit Steak Fry on Saturday, September 24th, 2011 to raise funds for the Downtown American Flag Program in Fremont. The Downtown Flag Program was started in 1998 with cooperation of the Fremont American Legion and Fremont Area Chamber of Commerce to allow the entire Fremont community to show their pride in our country and community.
A total of $1,700.00 was raised from this benefit and these funds will help offset the costs of replacement flags and poles for the display area in downtown Fremont. Special thanks to the Fremont American Legion Post #257, the Fremont Legion Riders, Fremont Legion Auxiliary, and the Sons of the Legion for their support and help with this benefit. Also, a thank you to the following Fremont merchants for donating prizes for the raffle held at the Steak Fry. Thanks to Arnold Auto Parts, Baker’s Acres, Billings Service Station, Farmers State Bank, Fremont Hardware, Fremont Shop-Rite Market, Fremont Village Foods, Gays Hops-N-Schnapps, Stroh’s Furniture, and Yogi Bear Jellystone Camp Resort for their generous support. The Fremont Area Chamber of Commerce would also like to thank the Fremont Town Employees for their help in displaying and removing the flags and to the Fremont Chamber Members who helped work at the Benefit.
Thank you to the Fremont community for their support of this Flag program and for attending the Benefit Steak Fry to support the program financially. The cooperation of the entire community makes Fremont a great place to call home.
