Flags are put up in May on the street light fixtures and they stay up all spring/summer until late fall. In an election year, we put all of the flags up (the ones on the light fixtures and in the ground) in early May for the primary election.

Flags will be out before Armed Forces Day on May 20, 2017 and stay through at least Memorial Day May 29, 2017.

The Fremont American Legion and The Fremont Chamber raise the funds for the flag program. A steak fry at the American Legion is a major fund raiser, the money is used for flags, poles, and such. We also receive  donations from private individuals for upkeep of the flags downtown.
