Christmas Holiday Food Drive Kicks Off the Holiday Season

 

The Chamber and Town of Fremont will again sponsor a Holiday Food Drive beginning on November 27th, 2017 running through December 8th, 2017 for the Fremont Community Food Bank at the Fremont Community Church. Please consider the donation of non-perishable food items to help the less fortunate in the Fremont community. Donations can be dropped off at the Fremont Town Hall, Fremont Fire Station, Fremont Public Library, Fremont American Legion, Edward Jones/ Doug Targgart's office, the Outlet Shoppes at Fremont, and the Fremont Moose Lodge. Thank you for your generous support in the past years and your continued support.

Santa Claus will visit the Fremont Community on Saturday, December 2nd, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Santa will arrive at the Fremont American Legion to greet the children and have his picture taken with each child. The Fremont Legion Auxiliary will serve cookies and hot chocolate and the Fremont Public Library will have a book for all the children attending.  Mark your calendars to attend this popular event during the Christmas season.

A Christmas parade will kick off the event at 5:45 pm with line up behind the Elementary School at 5 :00-5:15 pm. Horse drawn carriages from the Dekalb County Horseman's Association will participate in the evening Parade with their lighted entries. Please contact Kim Cope, Tim Fisher or the Fremont Chamber at 495- 9010 to participate in the 2015 Holiday Parade. Please bring a non perishable food item for donation to the Fremont Community Food Bank.

Following Holiday Food Drive The Holiday Decoration Contest Begins

The Fremont Area Chamber of Commerce, Steuben County REMC, NIPSCO, and the Old Mill Shoppes and Art Gallery will again sponsor a Christmas Holiday Decorating ontest for Fremont residences again 01is year. The 1st place winner will receive a cash prize of $75.00 2tid place will receive $50.00, and 3rd place will receive $25.00. The judging for this year's contest will take place on the evening of Tuesday, December 8th, 2015 with Fremont Area Chamber members doing the judging. The winners will be announced on Wednesday, December 6th, 2016. Fremont residents may sign up for the contest beginning on November 9th, 2015 through December 5th, 2016 at 3:00 pm. Please contact the Town Hall at 495-7805 or Chamber at 495-9010 or stop by to sign up for the contest. In addition this year, a winner will be selected for best Christmas decorating in a local business. Let's have all downtown businesses join in the holiday season to beautify our Town. The winner will be awarded a $25.00 cash prize. Good luck to all and we wish everyone has a joyous Holiday season in 2016.
